Dell 2150cdn Printer Review

Overview
If you are the owner of a small to medium sized business, Dell 2150CDN printer will satisfy all your printing needs. It can be also used for home businesses. Its color is dark and it is a compact printer. It will fit perfect in any settings. The printing quality is near excellent, and the price is around $400. Even though it was not made for printing large volumes, the logos and graphics will be printed excellently.
Pros
It weighs only 44 pounds and its dimensions are quite small (15.74” x 15.98” x 16.25”) and because of this fact it can sit confortable on any desk, but it is recommended to place it on a shelf or something like that.
At this model, you can opt for wireless connection, but it is not a built-in feature, like it is at other models. The auto duplexing feature is a choice for saving the environment because in this way you will lower the carbon footprint, which is very good. Also, the paper costs will be lowered.
The standard paper tray can hold 250 sheets, but you can simply buy another one which can also hold another 250 sheets. This thing can help you if you need to print high volumes. Also, the printing resolution is 600 x 600 dots per inch.
The warranty is one year.  It has a simplistic menu, and because of this fact it is easy to set and use. The control panel has a two line LCD display.
The standard memory is 256MB, but it can be upgraded to 768Mb, which is the maximum. Printing speed is equal with 23 ppm in both black & white and color. However, if you need to print on a MAC, you need to know that the printing speed will be lower (17 pages per minute)
Cons
The 250 sheet tray could not be enough because even though you bought this printer for a small office, you could eventually need to print high volumes.
The consumables are quite expensive. Replacing the cartridge costs 0.25 cents for color and .04 cents black and white.
When the printer is working, it is making a lot of noise. You should not want to use it when you are talking on the phone with clients or when you have clients coming to your office.
Even though there were problems with color registration, the printing quality is greater than it is at other printers.

Konica Minolta MagiColor 5670EN Laser Printer Review

Overview

Most businesses are in need of a high powered printer for the office. That is what the Konica Minolta MagiColor 5670EN Laser Printer is. When it comes to handing out prints during a boardroom meeting, you will be proud to hand out these vibrant colored prints. This printer also works at a great speed. It also provides high volume needs because it can handle a lot of printing. This is great news for businesses in need of high volume printing because it comes with a network capacity and a large monthly print volume.

Pros

With the printing speed being the best feature and main benefit of the Konica Minolta MagiColor 5670EN Laser Printer, this is a great printer. It has a printing speed of 37 pages every minute for black and white. With a speed like this, it blows the many other laser printers out of the competition. Although the output speed is 14 seconds a page, the large printing volume and speed makes up for this.

The monthly printing cycle is 120,000 per month. This printer makes for a great printer for businesses with a shared working environment. It is also easy to set up because it comes network ready.

The Konica Minolta MagiColor 5670EN laser printer comes with a 500 sheet output tray and a 100 sheet multipurpose additional tray. This is a great feature because it allows for lots of paper with no need to keep refilling the paper tray often. Another great feature is the multipurpose tray will allow for different printouts including custom letterheads, envelopes and even transparencies.

Because it has a direct printing feature, it can print from different places such as flash cards. Also, it is compatible with cameras that come with PictBridge which means it will allow for printing TIFF and JPEG files from the flash drive. Another great feature is that it will work with a Mac, Windows PC or a Linux. This is because it comes with the ability to print from high speed USB 2.0 connectivity.

You also have the option to use a 40 GB hard drive which will work great by storing important and frequently used files.

Cons

Although most printers within the same price range as this one comes with the duplexing feature, this printer does not have this feature.

The price is somewhat expensive; however, with all of the great features and benefits, this should more than make up for the price.

Samsung CLX 3175 3 In 1 Color Laser Printer

OVERVIEW:  If you decided it’s time upgrade your inkjet all-in-one to a laser version, you don’t have to settle for monochrome printing. For a basic 3-in-1 multi-function, with color laser printing that takes up no more space on a desk that many monochrome models, the Samsung CLX-3175 offers these features for a modest price.

PROS:
Having a footprint only slightly larger than it’s monochromatic cousin, the SCX-4300, the CLX-3175 can sit at a desk or a credenza without appearing too obtrusive.
At a maximum print resolution of 2400 x 600 dpi, the CLX-3175 keeps text reasonably clear--and does a decent job with basic graphics. To keep from consuming too much toner, the printer has a 600 dpi resolution with a text-enhance or image-enhance switch.  The Toner Save feature allows for a 40% toner life.

The control panel on the CLX-3175 allows a user to scan and make copies without using a computer. There is also an option for choosing whether to print in B&W to save on color toner and a Toner Save feature. As a copier, the 3-in-1 can zoom from 25% up to 400%, and make up to 99 copies in color or B&W.
The color scanner portion of the CLX-3175 is compatible with TWAIN & and XP/Vista’s WIA standards.  Under TWAIN, the 1,200 x 1,200 dpi resolution can be increased to 4,800 x 4,800 dpi.

The CLX-3175 requires a USB 2.0 connection to a printer. It’s funny for a printer to offer the TWAIN scanner support (a pre-XP standard) and not have the ability to connect to older computers with parallel ports. While PC’s with a parallel interface have become few and far between, it’s nice to free up a USB port if your computer still has one.

While in Standby or Sleep mode you won’t even know that the multi-function is on at 27dB. And when it fires up at 52dB, the CLX is no noisier than low conversations. While 53 decibels may not be loud, it is annoying if the printer is sitting next to you printing 99 copies.
This multifunction has built-in an impressive 128MB of memory. While more memory cannot be added, this is more than plenty for all of your non-network printing needs.

The CLX-3175 comes standard with a 150-sheet tray, capable of handling up to legal-size paper. The single-sheet multi-purpose tray can handle transparencies, labels, post cards, envelopes, 3” x 5” postcards up to 8½” x 14” legal paper of various bond weights.
If you have a USB flash drive, the CLX-3175 can directly read from your device for scanning, copying, and printing standard image files. To make configuration recovery easy, information stored in the CLX-3175 memory can be backed up and restored using a USB Flash drive.

CONS:
No PostScript emulator. The Samsung emulator will do the job, but imaging problems like “ghosting” can occur if trying to print certain graphics created by Adobe’s Photoshop or Illustrator without a PostScript print option.
One of the things you need to consider when you decide to get a color laser printer is if you want a “multi-pass” color printing or “single-pass” printing. A multi-pass printer can give you screaming print speeds in Black and White, but will be 4 times slower printing in color because the paper has to pass through each toner. It’s similar to the way t-shirts and banners were manually silk-screened.

The CLX-3175 prints up to 17 ppm in B&W and 4 ppm in color (remember about multi-pass color printing?). The print speed in B&W could stand to be better, especially since there are now inkjet printers that are faster than this laser.
The software package seems to skimp on features, especially for Mac OS users. It would be nice if Samsung’s SmartThru software expanded its Windows features to Linux and Mac OS systems.

INK / TONER NEEDS:
The CLX-3175 comes with toners only 2/3 full and the printer requires four of them—one for each of the CMYK colors. The standard yield cartridges can be purchased separately, especially if the black toner gets depleted at a higher rate than the other colors. Combo-packages fare available to save on costs.

Other consumables you’ll need to consider is replacing the waste toner container every 10,000 toner passes, and replacement of the Imaging Unit every 24,000 passes.  One color page goes through 4 toner passes, while a B&W page only has 1 pass. So if you only do color printing, your time to replace these items is shortened up to a factor of 4.

SOFTWARE:
Being a multi-purpose printer, one would expect the software to provide full functions for all the computer platforms Samsung claims it supports.  The software in the CD-ROM is primarily for Windows compatible machines. For Windows users, the SmartThru software provides the most features, supporting not only scanning and printing, but offering an advanced printing section that allows for booklet printing, creating a large poster mosaics, and watermarks.

The Linux Unified Driver Configurator software allows for scanned images to manipulated and edited.  For Macintosh users, the CD-ROM has a couple of basic drivers for printing and a TWAIN driver for scanning. There is no additional software support: you either must have a 3rd party application that manages scanners or use the Mac’s own Image Capture (only available on Mac OS 10.4.7 and higher).

Spooling on Printer

Spooling is a usefull option if you want to print a large amount of
data. This function saves the print jobs to hard disk in a queue before
sending them to the printer. Consider spooling as the traffic
controller of printing—it keeps all the print jobs from trying to print
at the same time.

By default, spooling is enabled in Widows xp.

You can choose two options:

1. start imediate printing

2. Wait until last page is spooled.

An analogy for these choices is the actions you can take in a grocery
store’s cashier line. Let’s say you have an entire cart full of
groceries and the guy behind you has only a few things. Even if you’ve
started loading your groceries onto the belt, as long as the cashier
hasn’t started with your items, you can choose to let the person with
fewer items go before you, or you can make him wait. If the cashier has
already started totaling your groceries, then you don’t have that
choice. Windows XP Professional spooling options allow you to configure
your print environment similarly.

In the Advanced tab, you can leave the Start Printing Immediately option selected, or you can

choose the Start Printing After Last Page Is Spooled option. If you choose the latter option,

a smaller print job that finishes spooling first will print before your print job, even if your

job started spooling before it did. If you specify Start Printing Immediately, the smaller job will

have to wait until your print job is complete.

The other spooling option is Print Directly to the Printer, which bypasses spooling altogether.

This option doesn’t work well in a multiuser environment where multiple print jobs are sent

to the same device. However, it is useful in troubleshooting printer problems. If you can print to

a print device directly, but you can’t print through the spooler, then you know that your spooler

is corrupt or has other problems.

As I described before, when a user prints a document, the print
job creates a temporary file on the disk for the document being
printer. After that the application can be used for other tasks and the
system sends the temporary file to the print device.

In windows, the print spool service s responsible for managing the
print environment. If yo can't delete a print job from the print queue
than you many have a corrupt queue.

This problem may be solved by restarting the print spooler services.Follow these steps to perform the task:

1. Go to Start Menu

2. Control Pannel

3. Performance an maintinance

4. Administrator toools

Actually when you restart the printing spool services, you are going to reboot the printing envoiroment.

Sometimes, you may want to move the printer spooler folder. The folder
location should be changed if you are facing printing problem in
windows and there is no hardware problem. Also if you are running out
of space on drive C, spool directroy should be moved to another
partition. To change the spool dierctory:

1.Start Menu

2. Printer and Faxes

3. Choose file

4. Server properties

5. Click advance tab

6. Enter the path of the new spool folder

Printer classification

Printer classification based on their technology. Typical printer types are:

1. Dot matrix printer

2. Ink-jet printer

3. Laser printer

4. Thermal printer

Dot Matrix Printer

A dot matrix printer or impact matrix printer refers to a type of
computer printer with a print head that runs back and forth on the page
and prints by impact, striking an ink-soaked cloth ribbon against the
paper, much like a typewriter.

Dot-matrix technology uses a series or matrix of pins to create printed
dots arranged to form characters on a piece of paper. The speed at
which a dot-matrix printer prints is measured in the number of
characters it can produce per second. Unlike a type-writer or daisy
wheel printer, letters are drawn out of a dot matrix, and thus, varied
fonts and arbitrary graphics can be produced. Because the printing
involves mechanical pressure, these printers can create carbon copies
and carbonless copies.

The print head mechanism pushes each pin into the ribbon, which then

strikes the paper. The original dot-matrix print heads had 7 pins, while newer,

letter-quality print heads use 24 pins to produce near letter quality
(NLQ) documents. Each pin is driven forward by the power of a tiny
electromagnet or solenoid, either directly or through small levers
(pawls).

Dot-matrix printers are called impact printers because the printing
mechanism physically strikes the page. The continual motion of the pins
through the print head creates a ton of heat, so avoid touching the
print head after printing a handful of pages or more. A hot print head
can give you a nasty burn.

Paper moves through a dot-matrix printer using a tractor-feed
mechanism. Spoked wheels located on each side of the paper feed
mechanism move the paper. The spokes on the outer edges of the wheels
fit into holes on the sides of specially designed continuous form
paper. As the wheels turn, they pull the paper through the printer.

Because impact printers physically strike the page, you can use them to
create multi part forms with ease. Many offices and government agencies
use them for that very reason. Although impact printers have been
replaced in most homes and offices by newer, sexier inkjet and laser
printers , they still retain a substantial portion of the market in
their niches.

Advantages:

1.They can print on multi-part stationary or make carbon copies

2. Low printing cost

3. They can bear environmental conditions.

4. Long life

Disadvantage

1. Noise

2. Low resolution

3. Very limiter Color performance

4. Low speed

Thermal Printers:

Thermal printers use a thermal ribbon which is soaked with a wax type ink which is melted and then transferred to the paper.

In some thermal printers a thermo sensitive paper is necessary. In this
case the paper passes over a thermal head and the carbon coating turns
black in the heated areas. Thermal printers have low noise, low cast
while they are also compact. They are also known for their low printing
speed and high running cast.

Ink Jet Printers

Ink jet printers spray a very small amount of ink onto
the media. This is done by using a piezoelectric element. When voltage
are applied to the element, in bends and creates a pressure wave to
force out a drop of ink. Ink jet printers have low cast, compact size,
low noise. Their color printing quality is affordable. Some ink jet
printers may require special paper. Usually speed of ink jet printers is
slower than laser printers.

Laser Printers:

Laser printing is the most advance technology. In Laser
printing, a computer sends data to the printer. Printer translates this
data into printable image data. This kind of printers uses xerographic
principle. A laser beam discharges photo sensitive drum. A Latent Image
is created on drum, during development process toner is attracted to the
drum surface and then transferred to the paper.

Laser printing quality is high. These printers have low noise, high
speed while they are more expensive than ink jet or dot matrix printer
and they are generally large in size.

Printer Problems How to fix them

In this article Im going to explain common printer problems and their solutions. Before we go into the details, following advance checks must be made. Check to see if:

  • The power supply voltage meets the specification.
  • The power supply is properly grounded
  • The printer shares the power supply with any other machine that draws large current intermittently (air conditioner, elevator etc).
  • The installation site is environmentally appropriate: high temperature, high humidity, direct sunlight, ventilation, etc.
  • Levelness of the installation site.
  • Correct paper is being used for printing.
  • The units, parts, and supplies used for printing (developer, PC drum, etc.) are properly replenished and replaced when they reach the end of their useful service life.
  • Toner is not running out.
Printer problems can be divided into two categories:
  • Hardware Problems
  • Connectivity Problems
To determine the problem type, print “status page” from the printer control panel. If it prints without any problem then problem is in the hardware.

Hardware Related Problems.

Below is a list of common hardware problems. Printer troubleshooting, especially hardware repairing should always be done by a professional, however simple problems can be solved with very little efforts by end-user.
  • Incomplete Characters
Incompletely printed characters on laser-printed transparencies be corrected by adjusting the print density. Always use recommended printing material to obtain good print quality.
  • Ghosting
Ghost images appear on the printed page because of bad cleaning blade or improper charging of the drum unit. Ghost images appear on the next printed page if cleaning blade does not clean the drum surface. Drum/ photoconductor is very sensitive to light, so special care should taken while pulling it out.
  • Creased Pages
Most common cause of paper creases is damp paper. If the creases are noticeable, replace the paper, if problem persists check all the potential causes of misfeeds, paper jams and skewed prints. No hardware solution exists for this problem. This is simply a side effect of the process.
  • Black Pages
A broken charging unit causes a totally black page print. Try removing and reinstalling the print cartridge or photoconductor unit, the electrical contacts between the removable unit and the main part of the printer may not be connecting properly, otherwise replace the print cartridge/photoconductor unit with a new one.
  • Spotty Print
If spots appear at regular intervals on the printout, the printer’s drum may be damaged or toner is stuck onto the fuser rollers. Try wiping off the fuser rollers. Check the drum for damage. If drum is damaged, you must get a new toner cartridge.
  • Vertical White Lines
If you find you have white stripes throughout the printout, then the transfer corona wire is most likely the problem. There may be a problem getting the charge to the paper, resulting in toner missing on the page in areas. Otherwise there is blockage in the developer unit preventing a small area on the developer roller from receiving toner. Clean the path between the developing roller and the “doctor blade” with the corner of a sheet of paper if developing unit is user removable part, but this is not possible on printers using print cartridges.
  • Paper Jams
A misfeed occurs if the printer fails to feed a sheet of paper from the paper feeder. Misfeeds are generally caused by paper which is unsuitable for the printer, either because it is too light, too heavy, or too smooth, however misfeeds do occur with the correct paper. Old or dirty feeding rollers may cause misfeeds. Clean the feeding roller rubber with water and cloth.
  • Garbled or Corrupted output
If you experience corrupted output, it is possible that the driver has gone corrupt or that you have wrong driver installed. One of the best ways to find out if you have a bad driver is to print a test page. To print a test page go to the "Control panel" in Windows, open "Printers and Faxes", Right click the printer, choose properties, and click "Print test page". If test page is not printed correctly than you should try to reinstall the driver.
  • Fuzzy Print
Low quality or dump paper may effects sharpness of the printed image or the characters. The problem is not the printer, but the paper. Always store paper in a dry place to avoid this problem. Avoid paper that is too rough too smooth. Paper that’s too rough interferes with fusing of characters and their initial definition. If the paper is too smooth (like some coated papers, for example), it might feed improperly, causing distorted or overwritten characters.
  • Blank Printouts
There are two main caused of blank printouts in inkjet printers:
    1. Low ink level
    2. Clogged nozzle of the ink cartridges
If the ink is at an acceptable level, the nozzles have probably become clogged. To unclog the nozzle, dip a cotton swab in denatured alcohol and gently wipe away any dried ink. In laser printers a broken corotron wire may cause no print out.
  • Light Ghosting and Dark Ghosting
A variety of problems can cause both light and dark ghosting, but the most common source of light ghosting is developer starvation. If you ask a laser printer to print an extremely dark or complex image, it can use up so much toner that the toner cartridge won’t be able to charge enough toner to print the next image. The proper solution is to use less toner by using low resolution, changing the pattern and printing a completely blank page prior to the page with the ghosting image.
  • Confetti Printouts
Printouts with ink speckles, or confetti, always indicate an ink problem. Over time, ink can escape into the body of an inkjet printer, eventually finding its way onto subsequent printouts. To fix or prevent speckling, clean the insides of the printer with a damp cloth. Wrong Colors in Printouts Sometimes, a inkjet printers produce printing using the wrong color. Low ink may cause it, it the color cartridge are full than try to clean the nozzles with a cotton swab dipped in denatured alcohol.
Smudges on Printouts
Smudges on printouts are most often caused by the user touching the printout before the ink has dried. So be aware of it. You may also face this if printer is dirty or nozzles are worn-out. You must replace the worn-out nozzles because they cant be repaired.

Connectivity Related Problems:

Before troubleshooting connectivity related problems, make sure that
  • Your printer is the selected printer in the Print dialog.
  • Select it from the Printer pop-up menu if you do not find it listed.
  • Take care that your operating software is up-to-date.
  • Ensure that you are using the manufacturers latest printer driver.
  • Try deleting and then re-adding your printer through the Printer Setup Utility.
  • Check the cable connections, line voltage etc.
  • The printer is "Online".
  • Wrong paper size selection in printer driver may also be a cause of print failure.
  • Printer and PC network cards should be able to communicate with each other to complete a print job. Check connectivity between both printer and PC. (see How to).
  • Spooling function saves the print job to hard disk of the printer in a queue eliminating delay in print jobs. Check the properties of the printer and ensure that spooling is enables.

Print Quality Issues Printer Troubleshooting

Print Job Never Prints

If you send a print job and printer is not working, check the following things:

a) Is the printer turned on?
b)
c) All the cable are in working condition.

d) There is no problem is power source.

If every thing is well, the next step is to check the print sever print spooler status.

The print spooler is the hard disk space reserved for channeling print jobs from the PC to the printer. You can check the spooler status by two methods:

1. Click Start, Control Pannel, Printer and Faxes, and double click the printer icon.
2. Click the tiny printer icon in the system tray. This icon will be mostly there if print is failed to print.

The print spooler windows shows all the pending jobs. You can delete, start or pause jobs.

Print spoolers can overflow or become corrupt because of a lack of disk space or too many print jobs in the queue. The Printers window shows all the pending print jobs and enables you to delete, start, or pause jobs. The best answer is usually to delete the print jobs and try again. You might also run into a situation where the print jobs seem to spool, but then just vanish or “despool” as the jargon goes. The print spooler shows print jobs for a brief moment, but then nothing prints. Check the printer driver. An incorrect driver for the attached printer can cause this issue.

Incorrect Page Size

A print job that comes out sized incorrectly usually points to a user mistake in setting up the job. Check the Print dialog box for incorrect print parameters. Also check the Page Setup option in the relevant application. Make sure the user is setting up the page properly. If you know the page is set up correctly, recheck the printer drivers. If necessary, uninstall and reinstall the print drivers. If the problem persists, the printer’s print engine may be causing the trouble, but that is a possibility only when you continually get the same strangely sized printouts using a number of different applications.

Garbage Characters in Printout

Misaligned or garbage printouts invariably point to a corrupted or incorrect driver. Make sure you’re using the appropriate printer driver and then uninstall and reinstall the driver. If the problem persists, it’s possible that you’re asking the printer to do something it cannot do. For example, you might be printing to a PostScript printer with a PCL driver. Check the printer type to verify you haven’t installed the wrong type of driver for that printer. Try some of these diagnostic avenues:

• Make sure the printer cables are attached firmly and haven’t become loose.

• Turn off the power to the printer, and then turn it on again.

• To check the basic communication between the PC and the printer, try printing a plain text file—Notepad is excellent for that.

• Restart your computer. Many Windows and application problems can

be resolved simply by restarting your system.

• Reinstall your printer drivers. Drivers occasionally become corrupted and might need reinstalling.

• Check your resource settings for the parallel or USB port to verify no resource conflicts exist.

• Connect the printer to a different computer. If the printer continues producing garbage characters on the second computer, you know the problem lies within the printer.

• Try printing a smaller document. If you can print a smaller document, the problem may be insufficient memory in the printer. Insufficient memory can be remedied by adding more RAM to the printer.

Printer Not Responding

If the printer isn’t responding, check the easy things, first make sure the printer is turned on and the cables are securely and correctly attached. Make sure the printer is online. Make sure the application you’re printing from is sending the print job to the correct printer .Make sure you have the correct print driver installed for the printer. Try to print a test page. Try attaching the printer to a new computer. If nothing works, your printer might have to go to a printer repair facility.

HP Printer Error Codes

Here is a list of common error codes along with troubleshooting tips for HP LaserJet printers.

Error code 02: Warm up issues

Error code 02 indicates that the I/O cable is bad or hooked up incorrectly and/or there is communication problem between computer and printer. Other causes are bad D.C controller, badFuser Assy or bad D.C power supply.

Error code 11: Out of paper

This means that your HP LaserJet is most likely short of paper. Check to see if the sensor arm of the paper tray is damaged or caught somewhere. Check if the tray is empty of paper. It could also be that the paper cassette is missing or the PS2 flag is damaged.

Error code 14: Absence of toner cart

Error code 14 indicates that the toner cartridge is either not properly seated or installed. It could also mean the sensitivity tabs are missing or that the toner cartridge itself is of bad quality. Make sure to check on the right hand tabs of the toner cartridge and that the switch actuator is not bent.

ERROR CODE 16: TONER LOW

Error code 16 indicates that the toner is low or uneven in the cartridge. Shake the toner well. Check the toner cartridge contact point, if necessary clean them with a blower brush. Defective main control board or high voltage power supply may also be the cause of this code.

Error code 22: Configuration error

These error codes are typically associated with improper configuration for the computer or the printer. Make sure the I/O cable isnt damaged. Check if the I/O port on the printer is damaged or not. Also check the EIO card inside slot X of your HP LaserJet printer. Check to see if it has overflowed.

ERROR CODE 24: JOB MEMORY FULL

This code shows that printer job memory is full. This may happen while printing a complex print job. If you have regular complex printing jobs than it is better to increase the memory. Check the specification of you printer to confirm that it support additional memory.

Error code 30: PS error

PS errors refer to a postscript firmware problem. For this you will need to get a new firmware chip for your HP LaserJet to function normally again.

Error code 40: Transfer error

This usually means that there is a disconnection between data transferring from your PC to your HP LaserJet printer. However, it can be rectified if you check on the MIO card. It should have no defects.

ERROR CODE 49. A COMMUNICATION OR CRITICAL FIRMWARE ERROR

This is a communication error code with the application that is being used. Go back to a different software program and see if a job will print. If message persists turn printer off then on. If message still there when the network cable is disconnected. Up grade firmware in jetdirect card and the formatter board.

Error code 52: Improper scanner speed

This error code implies that the HP LaserJet scanner is having faulty speeds. Check if the scanner motor is damaged and also check if the cable assembly is faulty or not. Sometimes this could be temporary as the scanner maybe facing startup issues.

ERROR CODE 68 - ERROR IN NVRAM, SERVICE ERROR NVRAM FULL

Possible Causes: This is temporary error code. If turning the power on and Off does solve it the formatter board may be defective.

ERROR CODE 69 - DUPLEXER ERROR HAS OCCURRED

Temporary duplexer error. Reseat duplexer and perform a service test. If problem persists perform a paper path test.

Error codes 70 and 71: damaged MIO card

This indicates that the MIO card also called SIMMS is faulty or damaged. Either the SIMM slot or the SIMM itself is not compatible with your HP LaserJet printer. That means you will need to get a new SIMM which is compatible.

ERROR CODE 80 - DEFECTIVE NETWORK CARD, OR FORMATTER BOARD.

web page printing Printer Basics

Printing Web pages is not a simple job. Usually Web pages are designed to be displayed on a screen only. Therefore you have to face the following problems:
• The screen’s format differs from the format of a sheet of paper, even when you use the landscape format.
• Often Web pages show bright letters in front of a dark background.
A printout may need much toner or ink as well as the printout might
be difficult to read.
• The pictures or graphics on a Web page normally have a resolution optimised for the display on a screen. As printers work with a
higher resolution, the outcome might be of a much lower quality.
• Information referring to the same topic is often spread over several
Web pages connected by hyperlinks, so you might have to print
every single Web page individually.
The problems of printing Web pages are known to Web designers. Some of them might offer you two versions of a Web page, one optimised for being displayed on the screen and one for printing. If you want to print out a Web page, look out for a link that leads you to
the print version. Some problems, e.g. the lower resolution of online pictures, cannot be solved. Certain problems can be solved if you choose the right options offered by your Web browser.
Different browsers offer different options. The following explains the most important options offered by Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.
Before you actually start the print job, you can choose certain options
either in the Page Setup Dialog or in the Print Dialog.
Open the Page Setup or the Print Dialog from the File menu. Both
dialogs may offer some of the printer options besides the ones
referring specially to Websites. Choose,
• which information has to appear in the header and the footer of the
page, e.g. the URL or the title of the Web page
• whether the Web page has to be scaled to fit the paper format
• whether the background has to be printed or not and whether the
letters are to be printed in black.
Web pages containing frames:
• choose if only the marked frame is to be printed, all frames should
be printed individually or the whole page as it is displayed on the
screen.
Web pages containing hyperlinks:
• choose whether the corresponding Web pages are to be printed
within the same print job.
